Learn more about us: - -$5,000 Commitment Bonus -- Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (received at 6 months and 12 months). ----**Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the commitment bonus.** -JOB LOCATIONNCEENT of Cary - 1010 Tryon Village Drive, Cary, NC -JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking an -Optical Assistant -to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. -JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze and interpret prescriptions.
• Educate and advise patients of available frame styles, lens designs, materials and coatings.
• Perform minor eyewear repairs when necessary.
• Maintain, clean, and repair optical equipment as necessary.
• Advise patients on insurance coverage, promotions.
• Complete customer billing/service records.
• Verify finished eyewear is within ANSI standards.
• Partner with clinic staff, to review and revise best business practices to maintain a high level of patient satisfaction.
• Attend and actively participate in staff meetings to maintain and improve technical skills and service levels for patients.
• Ensure patient's visual and auditory privacy and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Ensure HIPAA compliance standards are met. -
• Interact with staff and co-workers in a manner that promotes positive working relationships.
• Meet all required competencies and maintain skill level.
• Complete required Annual Review and Safety, Compliance, and Infection Control trainings.
• Flexibility to travel to various optical locations as needed.
• Participate in the orientation, and assist in training process of staff. -JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
