Sr. Product Manager - (POS)Job DescriptionIntroduction and SummaryAdvance Auto Parts is a leading retailer and distributor of automotive aftermarket products to Do it Yourself (DIY) and professional customers. The AAP store footprint encompasses two Point of Sale (POS) systems and is made up of company stores managed and operated by AAP team members and independent stores, owned and operated by independent store partners under the Carquest brand.The Sr. POS Product Manager is a line of business team member with a retail/store operations background who functions as the product owner responsible for the vision and roadmap for the Point of Sale (POS) application. In this capacity, the product manager is responsible for developing a deep knowledge of AAP corporate store day-to-day operations, and the needs of the end user and the end customers on the DIY and Professional (B2B & B2C) sides of the business. They will directly engage with store partners to develop a vision and support the release roadmap of improvements to the POS application, complete with measurable performance metrics and return on investment. The Sr. Product Manager will then partner with IT to drive implementation of that roadmap and with field team members and customers to measure impact afterwards. This position will manage multiple direct reports who will also contribute to the POS product. The Sr. POS Product Manager supports the Director of Store Systems on overall team member-facing systems strategy and partners with product and engineering peers on issues impacting point of sale. This person needs demonstrated ability in Product Management; strong communication, presentation, and financial skills; and embodies the cultural beliefs of Take Action, Be Accountable, and Speak Up.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand store operations processes, team member needs, and business priorities to align store management, store sales, and point of sale solutions with business initiatives & corporate strategy.
  • Understand the current point of sale, store management, and store sales system landscape, including interactions with applications by functional area.
  • Define the limitations of the current landscape and prioritize the replacement roadmap to ensure business continuity and maximum business value.
  • Consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
  • People manager who is invested in the growth and development of team members.
  • Lead the cross-functional areas within the POS product area using an agile development methodology.
  • Provide expert input on current and best-in-class store operations and sales practices.
  • Provide senior business leaders information, advice, and engage with the business to understand and influence solutions for store management, store sales, and point of sale functions.
  • Develop relations with business to cultivate trust and that encourages business leaders to seek their advice and help guide decisions.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of product or project management experience.Skills & Knowledge: Expert Knowledge of system development methodology, project management, analytical/problem solving skills and relevant development and technology skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

    • Develops innovative solutions, systems and products to support company objectives.
    • Balance competing requests and priorities, building consensus and delivering an aligned plan of action.

    • Deconstruct complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and communicate to non-technical teams.
    • Manage applications and business problems that are highly complex and diverse in scope and may include project size, multiple applications, multiple I/T segments, contractors, global rollout, new technologies, new architectures.
    • Provides senior business leaders information, advice, and engages with the business to understand and influence technology and process solutions.
    • Possesses excellent facilitation and communication skills and is able to adapt to the level and nature of their audience.
